Eastern and Coastal Diocese (ECD) is one of the twenty-five (25) Diocese of the Lutheran Church in Tanzania. ECD is located on the Eastern Coast of Tanzania and its geographical location is coastal regions Dar es alaam, and Zanzibar Islands (Unguja and Pemba) and Mafia.

The Diocese currently has 82 Parishes and 153 Sub-parishes with 224 church buildings.
The number of adults and children is 214,073 of which 190,393 adults and 23,680 children. The denominations have spread throughout the three Districts of Dar es Salaam, five districts of the Coast Region and Zanzibar.

The ECD has 119 Pastors together with Bishop and Assistant Bishop, ten percent (10%) are Female Pastor. There are 189 Evangelist and 102 Staffs who work at the Parish. In addition to the other 46 staff members are Headquarters and 28 staff members are in college, 105 Accountants, 75 employees are in social services, and 16 are in Information and Communication Center, and Kisarawe Secondary School Junior Junior has 34 employees.

With local partners, Denominations and Community Diocese provide essential services to different groups who have been led by normal development. The goal is to empower themselves and reduce poverty. These initiatives include community capacity and capacity building, small-scale income-generating projects, Savings cooperatives and SACCOS, breeders of HPI lakes, Dairy goats, Chicken and Fish Projects, Management plan Environment and storage.
